From Tate Modern in London to Bergamo: Isaac Julien’s Museum Dreams arrives at Gres Art 671.
Following its international success and presentations at some of the world’s most prestigious museums, Isaac Julien arrives at Gres Art 671 with Museum Dreams. It is the first major Italian retrospective dedicated to Isaac Julien, one of the most influential visual artists on the contemporary art scene.
Conceived specifically for the spaces in Bergamo and curated by Nathan Ladd, the exhibition brings together more than thirty years of artistic research through immersive film installations, photographs, sculptures and archival materials.
For this major project, Espositiva oversaw the exhibition setup, translating the curatorial concept into a journey that guides visitors through images, architecture and memory.
Developed in collaboration with Adjaye Associates, every element of the exhibition design was conceived to enhance the large-scale installations and encourage a dynamic experience, inviting visitors to move freely through the exhibition and become active participants in it.
Isaac Julien’s film installations transcend the traditional concept of exhibition, creating a language that weaves together cinema, photography, music and sculpture.
The exhibition design supports this vision through a balance of technical precision and design sensitivity, shaping spaces that enhance the dialogue between moving images, sound and architecture.
